13th & 14th May 10am-4pm
Sutton Harbour and Barbican area
Plymouth Pirate Weekend is a two-day swashbuckling extravaganza when the historic maritime city pays homage to the pirate legend with a non-stop weekend of family-friendly entertainments hosted in Sutton Harbour and the adjacent Barbican area.
As the city’s historic waterfront quarter, Sutton Harbour provides the perfect backdrop to the hugely popular annual event every spring, and pirates swarm across the cobbled quayside with two days of re-enactment displays, sword fighting demonstrations, fairground rides, interactive workshops, treasure hunts, visits from tall ships, fancy dress competitions and much, much more.
Dress up as a pirate and spend some time enjoying the fantastic atmosphere on the harbourside – and don’t forget to look out for Cap’n Jack Sparrow, who never misses the chance to meet visitors.
During Pirate weekend, the Kaskelot tall ship will be berthed alongside Quay Road along with another tall ship, the Johanna Lucretia, adding to the atmosphere for this hugely popular family event.
Throughout the day on Saturday May 13th and Sunday May 14th, Kaskelot will be offering hands-on sail training sessions, suitable for all ages to learn more about how to set the sails – but from the comfort of a harbour berth.
Tickets for these sessions will cost £6 for adults or £4 for children and include other onboard activities.
